THE 3 MENTAL MUSCLES YOU’RE MISSING THAT ARE WORTH EXERCISING

Updated: Dec 8, 2022

Ask yourself this,

“AM I FULLY COMMITTED TO MAKING A CHANGE?”

if you can’t answer 100% YES, you won’t reach your goals.

Seriously.

You will constantly banter back and forth with yourself wasting so much energy.

Life comes with a lot of temptations and you probably know this already, you’ve probably slipped a few times, which may be why you’re reading this now.

This is just how life works.

For Everyone.

To get the most out of your goals and making that commitment to yourself and your health practice exercising these mental muscles!

1. Self Discipline Muscle

Most would say that this is the most important attribute to becoming successful, they’re right. It helps you stay focused on reaching your goals, gives you the good sense to stick with difficult tasks and allows you to overcome obstacles and discomfort as you push yourself to new heights. This muscle needs to be worked out every single day. Following a budget, throwing away junk food from your cupboard and not replacing it, limiting social media, making lists and completing them, etc. are all actions that support your self discipline to help you stay focused on your goals. Perform these actions repeatedly to strengthen the power of your rational decision maker, making temptations a thing of the past.

2. Patience Muscle

This is something most people have difficulty with, especially in our society, everything must be instant. However, our bodies aren’t made like that. You need to slow down and remember that “patience is a virtue”. Having patience teaches you will power which will reinforce your self discipline. Learning to make yourself wait for things can make you happier in the long run, start with something small like waiting a few extra minutes to eat that meal, or taking 3 deep breaths before starting an activity. With slowing down, you’ll realize there are a lot of things that take time away from what’s important. One way of removing stress from our lives is to stop doing these things – be mindful of what makes you impatient - You will begin to gain more patience as you practice.

3. Resiliency Muscle As previously discussed, making a change and committing to ourselves can bring temptations and sacrifices to our lives. It is a necessary part of growth; we all go through it. If we want to live the lives we want, there is a price we must pay. The great news is that the more you practice the easier it gets. As we train these muscles constantly it builds powerful habits for personal development. For this to happen we need to take initiative and keep moving and progressing. You need to be flexible, open minded, connected and motivated. If you get stuck, growth is stunted. You need to do your best to ACT in life not re act. Its up to you to decide that you’re ready for change, you must tell yourself that no matter what comes up – you WILL succeed.

Making a commitment to change for the betterment of your health is necessary, remember to choose wisely and work on your 3 Mental Muscles daily for the greatest success.
